Adding a New Layer

This page explains the details of the inputs that have to be specified to map a newly added test to an already existing layer or a new layer using Integration Console. To do so, click on the Add New Layer button in the INTEGRATION CONSOLE - LAYER page that appears when you follow the menu sequence Configure -> Integration Console -> Layer in the Admin module of the eG Enterprise System.

  • The name of the new layer has to be specified in the Layer name text box.

  • Note:

Ensure that the layer name always ends with "_ex". Otherwise, users will not be permitted to add the new layer.

  • Then, indicate whether the layer being added is a Duplicate of any existing user-defined layer. eG Enterprise allows users to duplicate an existing user-defined layer, so that the tests mapped to this layer are automatically assigned to the new layer as well. This duplication is particularly useful when you want to create two/more layers with the same/similar functionality and assign them to different components.

If the layer being added mirrors another layer, then set the Duplicate flag to Yes. Doing so will invoke the Layer to be duplicated list, which will display all user-defined layers that pre-exist in the eG Enterprise system. Note that the 'Layer to be duplicated' list will not include any duplicate layers that may pre-exist. Pick a layer from the list and then, click the Add button to add the layer.

  • Click on the Add button to add this new layer. The newly added layer will then appear in the list of USER DEFINED LAYERS that are registered with the eG Enterprise system.

The Back button enables the administrator to go back to the previous screen.
