Configuring a Layer

Once a new layer is added into the eG Enterprise system, tests have to be associated with this layer. This page enables the administrator to configure the new layer. To access this page, click on the Configure button against the layer to be configured, in the page that lists all existing layers.

• The tests that are currently associated with the layer under consideration are shown in the ASSOCIATED TESTS column.

• Tests that are registered in the eG Enterprise system but which are not associated with any layer are shown in the DISASSOCIATED TESTS column. 

• To associate a test with a layer, select the test from the DISASSOCIATED TESTS list, and click the << Associate button. Doing so will invoke a message box that prompts you to confirm whether or not the chosen test will have to be associated with all the components with a layer model containing the layer in question. If so, click the OK button. This ensures that the chosen test is automatically assigned to all components with the said layer. Clicking on the Cancel button also associates the selected test with the layer, but then, it does not automatically map the test to all the components which constitute that layer. Instead, it simply makes the test available for association with the corresponding components, so that, administrators have the flexibility to map the test to specific components alone and not all of them.

• Use the Disassociate >> button to dissociate selected tests from a layer.

The Back button enables the administrator to go back to the previous screen.
