Default Parameters for ShareFileUDTest

At configured intervals, this test emulates a file upload, download, and delete using ShareFile and reports the time it takes to perform each of these operations.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the ShareFileUDTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • Provide the email ID of the Sharefile user with ‘Admin’ access to Sharefile in the EMAIL ID text box. The credentials of this user are necessary for connecting to the Sharefile REST API, running API commands, and pulling out metrics.

  • Specify the password associated with the configured EMAIL ID in the PASSWORD text box.

  • Confirm the PASSWORD by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.

  • Indicate whether/not Sharefile is SSL-enabled. By default, the SSL flag is set to Yes.

  • When this test runs for the very first time, it automatically creates the file to be uploaded on the eG agent host. Against PATH TO UPLOAD, you need to specify the full path to the folder in which the file has to be created. Once the file becomes available in the specified folder, the test will try to upload it to ShareFile. Then, the test will try to download the same file from ShareFile to the path specified against PATH TO UPLOAD. Next, the eG agent will attempt to delete the file from ShareFile.

  • Once the necessary values have been provided, clicking on the UPDATE button will register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
