Measures reported by SynNasFanTest
Fans ensure that the temperature of the core components of the storage system are well-within operational limits. There are two types of fans available in this system:
If the fan suddenly stops running, then the temperature of the storage system hardware will soar, causing serious damage to the core components of the device. This is why, its good practice to keep track of the fan status using the Synology Fan test.
This test reports the current operational state of each fan available in the storage system.
Outputs of the test : One set of results for the Synology storage system being monitored.
The measures made by this test are as follows:
| Measurement |
Description |
Measurement Unit |
Interpretation |
| Sys_fan_status |
Indicates the current state of the internal fan. |
|
The values that this measure can report and their corresponding numeric values are tabulated below:
| Measure Value |
Numeric Value |
| Normal |
1 |
| Failed |
2 |
Note: By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values listed in the table to indicate the status of the internal fan. The graph of this measure however is represented using the numeric equivalents only. |
| Cpu_fan_status |
Indicates the current state of the CPU fan.
